General Description and Notes for CMY 800
CMY 800 is a down converter device consisting of an LNA and a mixer for cellular mobile
phones (i.e. AMPS). Due to the combination of Silicon with GaAs technology, low noise
figure and high gain can be achieved with very low current consumption. CMY 800 is
particularly suited for cellular receiver applications around 900 MHz.
The down-converter incorporates an LNA in silicon bipolar technology with a linear mixer
in GaAs MESFET technology in a very small SCT-598 package. The RF amplifier
exhibits a noise figure of 1.5 dB with an associated gain of 17 dB with only 4 mA of
current consumption. The input – 1 dB gain compression point is – 14 dBm, the input
third order intercept point is – 4 dBm. The LNA operating current can externally be
