8-BIT MCU BASED SPEECH/MELODY CONTROLLER
General Description
The RTS3400B series are 8-bit MCU based designed for high quality speech/melody
products such as intelligent educational and interactive toys. Their dual channels speech
(PWM only support one channel speech) and dual channels melody can be play out
simultaneously through DAC or PWM output. These chips not only offer high quality
speech/melody, but also we provide programming/coding tools for ease and flexibility in
designing customers' products.

Dual oscillation circuits: 1~4 MHz Crystal or RC oscillation (mask option)

Program ROM is up to 62.5K bytes
Program and data share a single ROM

160 bytes RAM:
128 bytes general-purpose RAM
32 bytes Stack-Four interrupt sources in two priority levels

Power saving modes minimize the power consumption:

CPU-Halt mode and stop mode
l
Software programmable CPU clock
Peripheral Features

32 I/O pads: 8 input-only pads, 8 output-only pads and 16 I/O pads
l
Four 8-bit timers: Melody timer, two speech timers and general-purpose timer
l
Four sound channels: Dual channels melody and dual channels speech can be played
out simultaneously through DAC output
l
Provide 3-bit ADPCM, 4-bit ADPCM, RTPCM, RTHPM and direct PCM software
algorithms for different sound quality requirements
l
Speech length: 20~160 seconds (based on 6K Hz sampling rate, 4-bit ADPCM)
l
Speech sampling rate can be programmed to generate speech melody
l
DAC or PWM output is software programmable
