predominates, the reference oscillator noise may be ignored.

Example (High Comparison Frequency Synthesiser)
The SP5058 has been designed to operate, with a high
comparison frequency, typically 250 KHz. If an LO of 2.048
GHz is to be synthesised then :-

High comparison frequency synthesisers are used in
applications where the phase noise within the loop bandwidth
is an important consideration such as scrambled satellite or
cable systems using the double conversion principle. See
