MICROCONTROLLER INTERFACE WITH TEA7089A
All inputs can be driven by a Low level max. of
0.1 x V
RMC
anda high level min. of 0.9 x V
RMC
.
Inputs MSK, DCL and DATA have internal pull-up
resistors of 120k
and input OSC has a internal
pullup of 240k
.
All outputs can drive a
±
1mAtypical.
PowerSupply
The microcontroller is power supplied by a 3.4V
regulated supply (V
RMC
) and by an unregulated
power supply (V
MC
).
The two supplies are connected through a serial
regulator.The unregulatedpower supply(V
MC
) has

than 6V. It is also possible to connect a battery at
PinV
MC
and use the regulated output at Pin V
RMC
to supply a LCDdriver.
The current consumption on the serial regulator
has a typicalvalue of 60
μ
A.

Ring, RESET is identical to RI output.
Only new positive edge PON, derivedon opening

speechmode.
SerialBus Interface
(Dataand Clock)
The serialbus uses6 bits.Astandard8 bit buscan
be used, bits a6 and a7 arenot take in accountby
the TEA7089A.Differenttypesof codesare used:
a) TheRing Control Code :
- Ring start up
- Outputlevel codes
b) TheOperating Code :
- Speech
- Dialing
- Microphonemute
- Earphone/Microphonemute
c) TheData Codes
(DTMF, ring frequencies)
:
Those data codes are stored inside the
TEA7089Aand are used as soonas the dialing
code or the ring startcode is received.
d) TheConfiguration Code :
- AGC/ no AGC(toggle)
- No mask / mask(Low DCin ”make”)(toggle)
- Normal gain / normal gain +6dB, on receive
channel(toggle)
- 1.79MHz external clock / 3.58MHz internal
oscillator(toggle)
Those configuration codes are ”Flip-Flop”
codes.
For instance: The first time that the+6dBcode
is sent, the receivegain increasesof +6dB.
If the samecode is sent again, the receivegain
goesbackto normalvalue.In thesameway the
3.58MHz internal oscillator can be switched
OFF with a second transmission of the proper
code.
e) TheRESET Code :
ResetcodefromtheMCUwillresetinternallogic
of TEA7089A to default mode and will induce
TEA7089Ato generatea ”RESET” status ”low”
to the MCU on Pin 19.
Warning : the ”RESET” code deactivates the
serial bus interface which is reactivated only
after a ”O(jiān)N-HOOK/OFF-HOOK”sequence
.
f) TheINITIALIZATION Code :
Initialization code from the MCU will reset the
internallogic of TEA7089Ato default mode, but
theTEA7089Awillnot generateresetcommand
to the MCU on Pin 19.
