Fluid Viscosity
When the application involves highly viscous fluids,
the fluid immediately around the thermistor probe
will heat up thus producing an incorrect result when
compared with the temperature of the bulk of the
fluid. This effect would be shown as a levelling of
the voltage/temperature characteristic at lower
temperatures. Fluids which produce sedimentary
deposits can increase the thermistor response time.
Applications
Industries
Low coolant level sensing
Automobile
Oil level sensing
Automobile, plant and equipment
Boiler level warning
Catering, vending machines
Solution monitoring
Chemical, plating, process engineering
Flood control
Domestic appliances
Reservoir high or low level sensing
Automobile, medical equipment
Thermistor probes may
attain a surface temperature
sufficient to cause burns
if touched
