torsarebuilt-in.Itprovidesstablereferencevoltages
with a voltageprecision of 1.6%.
SUPERVISORY CIRCUIT OPERATION
The system power ON/OFF logic is generated by
the PC,which is ”Low” insystem”O(jiān)n”conditionand
”High” when the system is ”O(jiān)ff”. This is connected
to remotepin 7.
TheIC’sinternallogiccircuit generatesacontrolsig-
nal on pin 6. In normal operation, whenthere is no
over voltage or overcurrentat the threeinputs,the
voltage on pin6 follows the Remote pin 7 voltage,
i.e. if the remote pin 7 is low the pin 6 is also low or
viceversa.
When fault is detected on the inputs, control pin 6
goes ”High”. This controlpin 6 outputcan be used
to turnoff theMains PowerSupplyduringfaultcon-
dition. An optocoupler is connected directly, with
cathodeconnectedto the IC pin 6 andanodeto
5V (from STDBYsupply).
In normal operation the voltage on pin 6 is (opto
cathode) is around 3.7 V. On the primary side the
opto transistor collectoris pulled througha resistor
to Vref.
It is required to invert the signal beforeconnecting
to the feedbackcompensationpin 6 of L5991A for
reverse logic.i.e duringnormal operationthe com-
pensationpin is not affectedand duringfaultcondi-
tion the pinis pulledLow. Slight delay (R34,C32)is
introducedontheprimary sideto avoid faultturnon
condition.
Note :
Once the fault condition is removed, it is required to
reset the Remote pin to make the system function again.
