CHAPTER 3 INSTALLATION
3.3 Creating Sample Program
The smpl850 directory contains a simple sample program using the ELCELP decoder and speech data.
The sample program decodes the speech data contained in files encode1.o, encode2.o, and encode3.o and writes
the result of decoding to an array called output every 1 frame.
In the example given below, sample program “make”, NEC tools, and UNIX version are used.

Move to the directory containing the sample program.
% cd elcelp/nec/smpl850/celp <CR>
<2>
Change startup.c in accordance with the target, by using an editor. startup.c supplied as a sample describes
only initialization of the stack pointer.
<3>
Execute the make command to create sample1.out
% make sample1.out <CR>
<4>
Confirm that sample1.out has been created.
% ls - l sample1.out <CR>
<5>
Download the sample program to the target using an in-circuit emulator and execute it.
