Equalizing and Precharging Functions
The HD66320T can alternately output the positive- and negative-polarity LCD-applicable voltages to the
odd-number and the even-number output pins using a function in the section, Inversion Drive for Each
Output Pin. Equalizing and precharging functions are provided on the HD66320T to stabilize the
HD66320T internal amplifier operation and decrease power consumption.
Equalizing function
Short-circuits the adjacent odd-number and even-number pins. With this function, the voltage levels
of each signal line are made closer to V
CCA
(5V) using the positive-polarity and the negative-polarity
LCD-applicable voltages remaining on the signal lines on the LCD panel. Thus, consumptive power
required by the precharging function can be decreased.
Precharging function
Makes the voltage levels of each signal line closer to V
CCA
(5V). With this function, operation of the
HD66320T internal amplifier can be stabilized and the LCD-applicable voltages with less voltage
deviation can be gained.
To achieve these functions, use the AC signal (M) and the horizontal latch signal (CL1). Set the width of
the equalizing and the precharging periods according to the load of the TFT LCD panel.
