Description of external parts
C1
HP input capacitor of 1μF is recommended.

Ripple filter capacitor of 47μF is recommended.

Oscillation preventive capacitors. Polyester film capacitor (Mylar capacitor) superior in temperature
characteristics is recommended. These are also used together with R1.
C5
Input capacitors. 2.2μF is recommended. 3.3μF or less is used because variation may cause pop sound.
C6
Input reference amplifier capacitor. The value same as for C5 is recommended.
C7
Amplifier on-time setting capacitor. 22μF is recommended. (The on-time period in this case is about
0.7sec.)
The rise time may be shortened by lowering the capacitance value. As this may cause pop sound, however,

μF or more is recommended.

The amplifier ripple filter capacitor of 47μF is recommended.

Switching regulator oscillation preventive capacitor. 1000pF is recommended.

Smoothing capacitors for switching regulator output. LA49101H uses the self-excitation oscillation
switching regulator. Because of effects on the self-excitation stability, the capacitor with the low
equivalent series resistance (about 3
Ω or less) at high frequency and satisfactory temperature
characteristic is recommended.
Use also R2 2.2
Ω from the same reason.

Power capacitor

Oscillation preventive capacitors. Polyester film capacitor (Mylar capacitor) superior in temperature
R3, 4
characteristics is recommended. These are also used together with R3 and R4.
TR1, *RB External switching transistor. As the collector current of a peak value of about 10A flows, the transistor of
fT=30 to 50MHz is recommended to meet the current capacity. When the transistor with fT=100MHz or
more is used, add base resistance of about *RB 10Ω to prevent oscillation because it may induce
oscillation in the switching waveform.
L1
The coil inductance range of 150μH to 220μH is recommended.
D1
Flywheel diode to draw the energy from coil. A Schottky barrier diode with small VF is recommended.
Switching Regulator Pin15 to Pin17
LA49101H has the signal tracing self-excitation switching regulator to reduce the power dissipation.
The self-excitation frequency at no signal is about 210kHz to 260kHz.
TR1 is an external switching transistor.
IC=2.5A, fT=30MHz to 50MHz are recommended.
When using the transistor with fT=100MHz or more, oscillation
may be induced in the switching waveform. Add the base
resistance (about RB10Ω) to prevent such oscillation.
C10 is the smoothing capacitor for switching regulator output.
Because of effects on the self-excitation stability and regulator
efficiency, the capacitor with the low equivalent series resistance
and satisfactory temperature characteristic is recommended.
The recommended value is 22
μF. Use also R2 2.2Ω from the
same reason.
D1 is a flywheel diode to scoop energy of the coil.
The Schottky barrier diode with small VF is recommended.
