CHAPTER 4 I/O Ports

4.4 Port 3
Port 3 is a general-purpose I/O port that shares pins with resource I/O. Each pin can be
independently switched between resource and port operation. This section principally
describes the port functions when operating as a general-purpose I/O port.
The section describes the port structure and pins, the pin block diagram, and the port
registers for port 3.
s Structure of Port 3
Port 3 consist of the following three components:
General-purpose I/O pins/resource I/O pins (P30/SCK to P34/TO/CLK)
Port 3 data register (PDR3)
Port 3 direction register (DDR3)
s Port 3 Pins
Port 3 has five I/O pins with hysteresis inputs and CMOS outputs.
As the I/O pins are shared with resource I/O, the pins cannot be used as general-purpose I/O
ports when the corresponding resource is used.
Table 4.4a lists the port 3 pins.
