Figure 5 illustrates the modularity of the QSE and QRT architecture. A 5 Gbps system can immediately be created (as
shown in
Figure 5
), then be upgraded to 10 Gbps (as shown in
Figure 6
), or 20 Gbps (as shown in
Figure 7 on page
19
) with the QSE and the QRT. Since systems composed of the QSEs and QRTs are based on a single-stage switch
fabric, the per-port cost for each system will remain the same.
