The VOLUME registers set the volume for
each one of the 4 channels, this allow to do a
balance function between the right and left
channels and a fade function between the
front channels and the surround ones.
The volume control add an attenuation from
0dB (no attenuation) to -79dB.
A mute is also available to zero the output sig-
nal.
The following table explain values for the 4
channels.

The LOUDNESS register enables or disables
the loudness filter on the Right, Left and Cen-
tre channels:
0 Loudness OFF
1 Loudness ON
Other values set Loudness ON
The registers BASS, MIDDLE and TREBLE
contain the values for the 3 bands graphic
equaliser for the right and left channels. The
following table explains values for the 3 bands
graphic equaliser.

The MODE register sets the Pro Logic mode,
only the 3 low significant bits are used, the oth-
ers must be set to zero.
