IV.4 - Ring Indicator- LineCurrent Variation

The PinRI/VI (Pin 10) is used fordifferentmodes :
- In Ring mode, when the threshold level, pro-
grammed on Pin RSU (Pin 40), is reached and
the Pin RESET (Pin 11) is high, the
Pin RI/VI (Pin 10) goes to high logic level.
- In OFF-HOOK mode the pin RI/VI (Pin 10) gives
anindicationof thelinecurrentvariationwhenthe
transfer feature is requested.
The transfer feature happenswhen there are two
telephone sets connected in parallel on the same
line and the userwants totransfer thecommunica-
tion from telephone ”1” to telephone ”2” and ON-
HOOK telephone”1”.
With TEA7092in telephone”1”.
Telephone”1” isin speechmode,the user presses
the ”Transfer” key on telephone ”1”. When the
”Transfer” key is pressed, the microcontroller
sends the Transfert code (0 0 1 1 0 1 0) and
TEA7092 memorizes the line current value. The
user ON-HOOK telephone ”1”, the line is main-
tained closed by the microcontroller, through the
pulse dialinghigh voltagestage.
When theuser OFF-HOOK telephone ”2”, the line
currentvalueintelephone”1” decreases,TEA7092
detects this line current variation and the PinRI/VI
goes to high logic level. When the microcontroller
receivesthissignalitputsoffthehighvoltagestage
of telephone”1”.
Telephone”1” goes in OFF-HOOKmode.
Figure 62 gives the value of the line current vari-
ation (

) which generates a high logic level on
Pin RI/VI (Pin 10).
IV.5 - Oscillator
The Oscillator is poweredon PinV
RMC
(Pin8).
The oscillator is only used for DTMF, sine wave,
beep error, ring frequency generator and transfer
feature.
In Pulsedialingflashorearthbutton,it ispreferable
to reduce, the current consumption on
Pin V
RMC
(Pin 8) as low as possible, in order to
have the lowest possiblevalue of capacitor on Pin
V
MC
(Pin2).
The togglecode (0 1 1 1 0 1 0) puts the Oscillator
in stand by mode or not.
The current consumptionon Pin V
RMC
(Pin8) is :
- Oscillator ON : 250
μ

- Oscillator OFF : 50
μ

The defaultcondition is Oscillator ON.
If themicrocontroller hasa 3.58MHzresonator,the
oscillator outputof the microcontrollercan be con-
nected, througha capacitor,to the PinOSC (Pin9)
soastoprovideTEA7092withthe3.58MHzsignal.
