PROGRAM ERASURE (

PD78P0308YKL-T ONLY)
The
μ
PD78P0308KL-T is capable of erasing (FFH) the data written in a program memory and rewriting.
To erase the programmed data, expose the erasure window to light having a wavelength shorter than about 400 nm.
Normally, irradiate ultraviolet rays of 254-nm wavelength. The amount of exposure required to completely erase the
programmed data is as follows:

needed because of deterioration in performance of the UV lamp, soiled erasure window, etc.)

When erasing the contents of data, set up the UV lamp within 2.5 cm from the erasure window. Further, if a filter
is provided for a UV lamp, irradiate the ultraviolet rays after removing the filter.

OPAQUE FILM ON ERASURE WINDOW (

To protect from unintentional erasure by rays other than that of the lamp for erasing EPROM contents, or to protect
internal circuit other than EPROM from misoperating by rays, cover the erasure window with an opaque film when
EPROM contents erasure is not performed.

ONE-TIME PROM VERSION SCREENING
The one-time PROM version (
μ
PD78P0308GC-8EU and 78P0308GF-3BA) cannot be tested completely by NEC
before it is shipped, because of its structure. It is recommended to perform screening to verify PROM after writing
necessary data and performing high-temperature storage under the condition below.
