TAPE-BASED TAD CONTROLLER WITH DTMF REMOTE CONTROL
Preliminary
To Check or Change Call Break Through ( CBT ) Code
The Call Break Through feature allows the user to alert someone, who might be home but does not answer the
call ( the machine answers ), to pick up the phone. The pre-set code is
“ 505 ”
. However, the user can change
this code to any 3-digit code of his.
To check the CBT Code:
Press and release the
“ CBT ”
button, the security code will appear on the Message Window.
To change the CBT Code:
Press and hold the
“ CBT ”
button until a long beep is heard and the Message Window shows the first digit
of CBT code. Press and release
“ CBT ”
button to change the second digit and third digit.
Press and release
“
↑
”
button ( count up ) or
“
↓
”
button ( count down ) to adjust the current digit.
Press and release
“ CBT ”
button to complete the process.
Remote Control Operation
A Security ( ID ) Code is used to gain access to your answering machine ( See function descriptions in the
Remote Control Operation section ). The preset Security Code is
“ 787 ”
.
Operation
Using a tone dialing phone, call the phone number of the line the machine is connected to ( typically your
home phone number ).
When the machine answers, press
“ ** ”
on the phone to interrupt operation of the answering machine. Two
beep tones will be emitted from the answering machine when it’s ready to check security ( ID ) code.
Enter the security ( ID )code (
“ 787 ”
or the own personal security code ) by pressing those keys on the phone.
Two beep tones will be emitted if the code entered is correct.
If the security code entered is not correct, an error response - 4 beep tones will be given, repeat 3 times. All not
correct the answering machine will hang up the phone to deny any unauthorized access to your information.
Enter the control code for your desired function. ( Please refers to description of specific function you want to
operate. )
Hang up when finish, or enter another control code within 8 seconds.
Room monitor - control code “ 0 ”
Enter control code
“ 0 ”
on the phone to remotely monitor the sound in the room where the unit is located.
A single beep tone will be emitted to confirm that the command has been received. The room monitor will
stay on for the next 60 seconds.
Press another “0” code to stop monitoring the room before 60 seconds expire. The answering machine will
respond with two beep tones and wait for the next remote control command.
Changing your security ( ID ) code - control code “ #1 ”
The ID code can be changed to any 3 digit code of your choice.
Press the control code
“ #1 ”
to change ID code.
After hearing a short beep enter a new ID code.
A short beep will be heard again. You must re-enter once again your new ID code for confirmation.
2 short beeps will be heard, indicating a new ID code is recorded.
If the re-entered ID code is different from the first one entered, the machine will give 4 short beeps to
The successful ID code will be backed up onto the tape and the memory.
