TAPE-BASED TAD CONTROLLER WITH DTMF REMOTE CONTROL
Preliminary
Special playback features
During playback you can fast forward, stop, or rewind just as if you were at home by the machine. To operate
these special features, follow step 1 above to begin playback.
Rewind - To rewind the tape, press the
“ 77 ”
key. To resume normal playback, press
“ 8 ”
key. If instead you
allow the tape to rewind all the way to the beginning, you will hear two beep tones, and the answering
machine will stop rewinding, resume normal playback.
Stop - if at any time you wish to stop playback, press the
“ 88 ”
key. You will hear two beep tones to confirm
stop. you can proceed with other remote control functions.
Fast forward - to fast forward the tape, press
“ 99 ”
key. To resume normal playback press the
“ 8 ”
key.
If instead you allowed the tape to fast forward to the end, you will hear 2 beep tones, and the machine will
stop fast forwarding. you can proceed with other remote control functions.
Maximum line idling time without remote-control command 120 sec ( or 240 sec by option 5 select ).
If the caller has not entered any remote code within the next 8 seconds, the machine will hang up.

Remote Answer On
If you forgot to set your machine to ANSWER ON, or turned it to ANSWER OFF remotely, you can remotely
turn it to ANSWER ON.
Using a tone dialing phone, call the phone number of the line the machine is connected to. After 8 to 10 ( 12
to 14 ) rings, unit will answer and a 3 second’s long tone will be emitted.
Enter
“ ** ”
and security code, say “787” or the new personal code.
Two beep tones will be emitted and the OGM will be played to confirm the machine has been turned to
ANSWER ON.
You can perform remote control function or just hang up.
Enter remote code within 8 seconds after the long tone.
Call Break Through (CBT)
The Call Break Through feature allows the user to alert someone, who might be home but does not answer the
call ( the machine answers ), to pick up the phone.
Using a tone dialing phone, call the phone number of the line the machine is connected to.
When the machine answers, enter a
“ ** ”
code on the phone to interrupt its operation.
Enter the 3-digit CBT code ( the preset CBT code
“ 505 ”
or your own personal CBT code ).
The machine will now emit a series of loud beeps for 1 minute. The person in your home will hear them even
if the Volume Control is turned all the way down.
The CBT function ends if exceeds 1 minute. Then it enters ICM recording in answer-record mode, or ends on-
line operation in answer-only mode or in Answer Off state.
When the person in your home answers, press the
“ *”
key on your phone or ask him (or her) to press the
“ Play/Stop ”
button on the machine to terminate the beeps.
press the
“ * ”
key , Repeat CBT.
