Section 1 Introduction
The purpose of this manual is to describe a library of software drivers for peripheral
devices on the
MCORE MMC2001.
NOTE:
Device driver names are indicated by the device name with an underscore followed
by a capitalized letter.
1.1 Overview
The MCORE device driver application programming interface (API) and library
consists of a set of executable components, interfaces, and documentation to
support initialization and control of peripheral devices integrated with the MCORE
processor, specifically those devices found on MCORE development system
boards and single-chip products. Driver modules are designed to be used either in
a stand-alone application or integrated into a system using a real-time operating
system (RTOS).
In an actual system, the device driver code resides between the hardware, an
optional RTOS layer, and the application code.
Figure 1-1
illustrates the
relationship of the device driver code with other system components.
