Exception program counter
Erasable Programmable ROM. ROM which is programmable in the field
and is bulk erasable by ultraviolet radiation.
Exception Processor Status Word
Evaluation Board
Evaluation Module. Any board-level emulator employing an
MCORE
chip.
First-In/First-Out
Flash-Erasable EEPROM. EEPROM that can be erased only as an entire
array.
Fast Interrupt Program Counter
Fast Interrupt Processor Status Word
Whole character package in an information transfer, including data bits,
start and stop bits, parity bits, etc.
General-Purpose Input/Output
Interrupt Controller found on MCORE-based microcontrollers.
Interrupt Service Function
Interrupt Service Routine
Interval Mode Serial Peripheral Interface
Keypad Port. A 16-bit peripheral which can be used either for keypad
matrix scanning or as general-purpose I/O.
Liquid Crystal Display
A service that provides basic register-level access to a peripheral unit, not
explicitly providing for interrupts. The abstract device provided is almost
identical to the actual hardware.
A service that provides a higher level of abstraction than a level 1 service,
typically including interrupt service (where appropriate) to provide that
abstraction. Example: a queued character I/O system built upon an SCI
unit.
A family of Motorola microcontrollers based on the microRISC ENGINE.
Microcontroller Unit. Any of Motorola’s modular family of microcontrollers.
On-Chip Emulation. Non-intrusive debugging port built onto all MCORE
silicon.
One-Time Programmable ROM. An EPROM that would normally be
erasable by ultraviolet radiation, but which is packaged for cost reasons in
an opaque package, making it non-erasable.
Personal Computer (IBM compatible computer with a 486 or better
processor)
A linkable library of software to support the programming of MCORE
peripheral devices.
