Thevectorbaseregister(VBR)containsthebaseaddressoftheexceptionvectortable
inmemory.Thedisplacementofanexceptionvectorisaddedtothevalueinthisregis-
tertoaccessthevectortable.
Alternatefunctioncoderegisters(SFCandDFC)contain3-bitfunctioncodes.Function
codescanbeconsideredextensionsofthe24-bitlinearaddressthatoptionallyprovide
asmanyaseight16-Mbyteaddressspaces.Theseaddressspacesaredesignatedas
eitheruserorsupervisorspaceandaseitherprogramordataspace.ThereisaCPU
spacetoallowtheCPUtoacquirespecificcontrolinformationnotusuallyassociated
