QSPIEnhancedFeatures
AprogrammablequeueallowstheQSPItoperformupto16serialtransferswithout
CPUintervention.Eachtransfercorrespondstoaqueueentrycontainingalltheinfor-
mationneededbytheQSPItoindependentlycompleteoneserialtransfer.Thisunique
featuregreatlyreducesCPU/QSPIinteraction,resultinginincreasedCPUandsystem
throughput.
OncetheCPUhassetupthequeueofQSPIcommandsandenablestheQSPI,the
QSPIoperatesindependentlyoftheCPU.TheQSPIexecutesallofthecommandsinits
queue,setsaflagindicatingthatithasfinished,andtheneitherinterruptstheCPUor
waitsforCPUintervention.
ProgrammablePeripheralChipSelects:
Fourperipheralchip-selectpinsallowtheQSPI
toaccessupto16independentperipheralsbydecodingthefourperipheralchip-select
signals.Uptofourindependentperipheralscanbeselectedbydirectconnectiontoa
chip-selectpin.Theperipheralchipselectssimplifyinterfacingtotwoormoreserial
peripheralsbyprovidingdedicatedperipheralchip-selectsignalsandthusalleviatingthe
needforCPUintervention.
