Pin Functions
The following table contains the pin function descriptions for the PoE terminals on the HyperJack 1000
PoE module.

I
Mode Select: Configuring this pin low when the device comes out of
reset causes the HyperJack 1000 PoE Module to work in Auto Mode.
Configuring this pin high causes the HyperJack 1000 PoE Module to
work in Power Management Mode. Note, this pin should be
configured at start-up and not modified during normal operation.

SDA_OUT

IC Data Out: Data is supplied by this pin when the IC bus is in read
mode. Connect the SDA_IN and the SDA_OUT pins together to
create a complete 2-wire IC bus.

SDA_IN

IC Data In: Apply data to the IC bus in accordance with the IC
clock provided.

SCL_IN
I
IC clock: Apply an IC clock to this pin with frequency from 0kHz to
400kHz. However, at 400kHz, special care must be taken with the
duty cycle to maintain this speed. Please consult the factory for
recommendations on running at 400kHz (see also 3.3.3.8)

GND
I
Digital GND: Apply the GND of the 3.3V supply to this pin.

D3.3V

Digital 3.3V external for optoisolated interface:
Apply the 3.3V supply to this pin.

PO_RST
I
Power On Reset (active low): When pulled low, this pin holds the
HyperJack 1000 PoE Module in the reset state. Once PO_RST is
pulled high, the IC interface becomes active within 70
s and the
HyperJack 1000 PoE Module is fully operational within 1s.

INTB

Interrupt line (active low): When this pin goes low, a fault has
occurred on one of the ports. The IC must be used to read the port
read registers to determine which port.

ADR4

Hardwired to GND or D3.3 to set module address A4 (see 3.3.3.7).

Hardwired to GND or D3.3 to set module address A5 (see 3.3.3.7).
