PMM fault state:
PMM faults are the same as those shown in the AM Fault state. With exception of the overcurrent fault, in
PM mode the faults can be disabled by setting the appropriate registers. Any one of these faults causes the
port to shutdown. Once a fault has occured the port can not be repowered until a Disable function is sent.
The Disable function clears the fault latch and the fault register.
Disconnect state:
When in the powered state and the controller detects a DC disconnect event, the controller removes power
from the port by calling the appropriate function. The controller may also support AC disconnect by
monitoring the impedance of the port (impedance rises above a threshold for a period of time). When either
of these conditions is detected, the controller powers down the port by calling the appropriate function. The
controller can then wait for a timer to expire and restart the discovery process for the port.
