4.2. Micro-Controller Interface
The 82C205 interfaces to the popular 8051-compatible micro-controller with a shared 16-bit address and data bus
(8-bit). The 82C205 provides the micro-controller with one interrupt source, which can be used by the programmer
to monitor the status of the 82C205.
The micro-controller can access the registers of the 82C205, the Color Look-Up Table (CLUT), and the DRAM
frame buffer. Since the internal address of the frame buffer is 22 bits wide, the 82C205 uses a bank switching
technique in order to allow the micro-controller access to the entire memory address space.
4.3. Input Source
The 82C205 supports 24-bit digital input. This 24-bit digital input port can be connected to a TV decoder, external
ADC and PanelLink receiver. The 82C205 can also generate its own internal test patterns and syncs that can be
used for system integration tests.
