EEPROM Data Memory
The Atmel
ATA6289 contains 320 (256 + 64) bytes of data EEPROM memory. It is organized
as a separate data space, in which single bytes can be read and written. The EEPROM contains
a locked area of 64Bytes according to Figure 3-10. The EEPROM addresses above 0x0FF are
only readable if the Fuse Bit EELOCK is programmed. The EELOCK bit is located in the Fuse
High Byte, seeTable 3-71 on page 164. If the EELOCK bit is unprogrammed (default) the
EEPROM area above 0x0FF is also writeable. The EEPROM has an endurance of at least 2000
write/erase cycles (according to AECQ100-standard: cyclen at room temperature followed by
1000h HTOL - High Temperature Operation Lifetime with reading the EEPROM Data memory all
time long). The access between the EEPROM and the CPU is described in the following, speci-
fying the EEPROM Address Registers, the EEPROM Data Register, and the EEPROM Control
Register.
