This unit (rosa_cmd) has control over the
&0'
line of the MultiMediaCard bus. It transforms the
serial MultiMediaCard bus protocol into a byte parallel transfer and vice versa. It generates CRC bits
for commands and checks them on responses. In card identification mode it runs at 400 kHz and in
data transfer mode between 20 MHz and 100 kHz depending on the cards in the stack and the num-
ber of cards on the bus. The CMD line controller is a FSM that writes command frames and reads
response frames and includes the CMD CRC codec.
This unit is triggered by the central ROSA controller (rcif_cmdstart). While going through the com-
mand response routine ifrc_cmd_busy indicates its active state. The command and argument bytes
are read in via the ifrc_cmd_bus; ifrc_cmd_addr selects source and destination registers. After a
command byte is read in it is send out serially on cmd_out. cmd_rw_out indicates the
&0'
transfer
direction. The CRC bits are generated within this unit and appended to each command. After the
end bit several decisions must be made; commands without response send the FSM into the 8 cycle
