Introduction
Decode the audio and video signals for presentation to the display
and loudspeakers
A microprocessor in the L64118 coordinates the control of all these
blocks. It controls RF-channel selection, mode selection for the L64781
chip, and program selection for the MPEG demultiplexer.
1.3 RF Tuner Block Functions
Figure 1.2 indicates the functions performed within the RF tuner block.
The example shown uses a double-conversion approach, in which the
RF tuner converts the UHF signal to a SAW lter (where ltering,
amplication, and gain control are done) followed by a further conversion
to the second, low IF that is required at the input of the L64781.

1.4 Modes of Operation
The L64781 supports all the modes of the DVB-T specication, including:
2 K and 8 K points FFT sizes
Nonhierarchical QPSK, 16-QAM, and 64-QAM constellations
Hierarchical 16-QAM and 64-QAM constellations
Constellation scale factors α =1,2,and 4
Code rates of 1/2, 2/3, 3/4, 5/6, 7/8
