2.4 Real-to-Complex Conversion
The real-to-complex conversion block takes the real, low-IF input
samples from the ADC output and converts them into a complex-
baseband representation for input to the interpolator. The real, low-IF
input samples come either from the internal 10-bit ADC (when the
L64781 is in
on chip ADC mode), or from an external 10-bit ADC (when
the L64781 is in
off chip ADC mode).
2.5 Interpolator Filter
The Interpolator Filter block resamples the incoming input stream, which
has been sampled at a xed rate (18.29 MHz1 + x ppm) so that output
samples represent the data stream that would be output if it had been
sampled at the correct speed. This allows the use of an oscillator (XO)
instead of a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCXO), to reduce costs.
2.6 Timing Synchronization
The L64781 Timing Synchronization block nds the optimum timing for
the start of the FFT window and synchronizes the frequency of the clock,
fCLK18, to the received signal.
The options for the duration of the symbol and the duration of the guard
interval are given in paragraph 4.4 of
ETSI Specication
ETS 300 744 [1].
The block takes the sequence of complex numbers from either the
interpolator lter block (in digital timing recovery mode, which is the
default) or the real-to-complex conversion block (in analog timing
recovery mode).
In the default digital timing recovery mode, this block produces a digital
control error for a number-controlled oscillator (NCO) in the Interpolator
Filter block.
