The CRU extracts the PCR belonging to the program currently being
demultiplexed from the transport bit stream. The CRU receives the trans-
port data directly from the Channel Decoder Interface at the same time
that the data is written into the Channel FIFO. Since the CRU operates
on the channel clock, no clock jitter is introduced during PCR value
extraction.
For a particular program, only one PID carries the PCR information. This
PID value is programmed into the PCR_PID Register. To extract the PCR
value:
1.
The CRU searches for transport packets with a PID eld value that
matches the PCR_PID value.
2.
Once the CRU has found a match, it examines the adaptation eld
(AF) ags in the transport header and checks if AF = 102 or 112.
3.
Examines the PCR_ag in the adaptation eld. If PCR_ag = 1, the
CRU extracts the 42-bit (6-byte) PCR value.
